A shapeshifting spirit of lakes, rivers, and ponds. Known for luring the unwary with the sound of a violin carried over the water, or by appearing as a pale horse at the shoreline. Its true form is described as moss‑covered, with yellow eyes and sharp teeth. In folklore it may act as a trickster or as a figure to be bargained with, its music shifting from peril to gift when met with the right offering.

PERFUMER’S NOTES
“Nøkken started from an outdoor image, the way wind and soil and stillness can rearrange your thoughts. I wanted something unvarnished and close to the ground, and almost botanical . The seaweed brings in salt, damp earth, and a hint of sulfur - reality requires imperfection. Even with all that calm, there’s a noise running through it. It has the kind of reclusiveness that's unsettling. I wanted it to feel like stepping into a place you’re not meant to be, but you’re there anyway, breathing it in.”
